Brother’s behavior escalating without routine

    My brother has Prader-Willi syndrome and has been at home since his day program closed during COVID. His obsessive behaviors are getting worse without structure and he’s gained 30 pounds. Our parents are at their wit’s end. We need to get him into a structured day program and possibly look at residential options where staff understand his specific needs. Does anyone know supported housing programs, day services for people with intellectual disabilities in NY that handle complex behavioral issues? We’re in the Hudson Valley area.

    It took a while for a family I know to realize how much their adult son depended on having a predictable daily routine. When his program closed, his behaviors became harder to manage and everyone at home felt overwhelmed.
