I’m hoping someone on here can save me from another wasted afternoon of driving around in circles because I’m getting nowhere with this battery situation and it’s starting to stress me out. My 2018 Volkswagen Golf has been struggling to start for the past week or so, nothing catastrophic yet but that sluggish crank in the mornings is getting worse and I know it’s only a matter of time before it refuses to start altogether. I checked the manual and it takes a 70Ah battery with EFB technology because of the start stop system, so I can’t just grab any old thing off the shelf. I work in Downtown Dubai and honestly the idea of taking a day off just to sort out a battery feels ridiculous, so I’m really hoping to find somewhere close to the office where I can get it done during a lunch break or right after work. What I’m looking for is a certified 70Ah battery replacement near Downtown Dubai, somewhere that actually knows what they’re doing with European cars and won’t just guess their way through it. I’ve heard too many horror stories about shops fitting the wrong chemistry or not coding the battery to the car’s computer, and then the new battery fails within months because the charging profile is all wrong. I don’t have the time or patience to deal with that kind of hassle. The other thing is I want somewhere that will actually test the alternator before and after installation rather than just assuming the battery is the only problem. Has anyone here used a place in Downtown or the surrounding areas for a 70Ah battery and been genuinely happy with the work? I’d really appreciate a recommendation, and if you remember roughly what you paid that would be super helpful too.
