Varta or Bosch, which battery should I actually buy for my car?

I’ve been trying to decide between these two for about a week now and I keep going back and forth, so I’m hoping someone here can give me a straight answer based on actual experience rather than brand loyalty. My 2018 Audi A3 needs a new battery and I’ve narrowed it down to Varta or Bosch because both seem to have decent reputations in this climate. The problem is every time I read a comparison, they both come out looking good and I’m none the wiser about which one actually lasts longer. I found a Varta versus Bosch, which battery wins comparison that tried to break it down, and it made some fair points about warranty lengths and cold cranking figures, but I’d rather hear from people who’ve actually owned one or the other rather than a spec sheet. What I really want to know is whether one of them genuinely lasts longer in this heat, because that’s the thing that matters most to me. I’ve had cheap batteries before that died in eighteen months, and I’d rather pay more now than deal with that again. I’m also curious whether either brand is easier to get hold of locally or whether the prices differ much, because if they’re basically the same then I’ll just go with whichever is easier to find. Has anyone here switched from one to the other and noticed a real difference, or is it all much of a muchness once you’re spending this kind of money? Any honest feedback would be appreciated because I’m ready to just buy something and stop overthinking it.
