Hey guys, first time heading to Malta for vacation. We stumbled on a pretty cheap package deal for two and figured why not go for it. Thing is we know absolutely nothing about the place. What’s worth seeing there, where can you go besides the beach, that kind of stuff. And most importantly, where’s the best place to rent a car? Because no matter what country we visit, we always get around on our own wheels.

Malta’s one of those places that looks tiny on a map but keeps surprising you with how much there is to see. Valletta is worth a full day at least, the whole city is basically a living museum with fortifications and baroque architecture everywhere you look. Mdina is another one you don’t want to skip, it’s a medieval walled city that feels completely frozen in time. And if you get a chance, take the ferry over to Gozo for a day, the scenery there is completely different from the main island.

People always underestimate how much ground you can cover on a small island when you’ve got a car, especially somewhere like Malta where the interesting stuff is spread all over the place and not just concentrated in one spot. You can sort out rent a car in Malta at https://getrentacar.com/en-US/malta . Good selection of vehicles available and you can compare options and get everything sorted before you even land. Driving there is on the left, just a heads up since it catches a lot of Americans off guard.
