Regional Economic Update of 2024

While the Greater Louisville economy remains resilient, national economic factors continue to affect businesses across the region. Join GLI for our last Regional Economic Update of 2024 presented by PNC, for a conversation with Alberto Musalem, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, on the U.S. economy and monetary policy.
President Musalem oversees the activities of the Eighth Federal Reserve District. He also participates on the Federal Open Market Committee, or FOMC, which sets the direction of U.S. monetary policy. The St. Louis Fed plays a key role in promoting a healthy economy and financial stability by pursuing maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate long-term interest rates in the U.S. economy. The St. Louis Fed is among 12 regional Reserve banks in the Federal Reserve System, the nation’s central bank. The Fed’s decentralized structure ensures the economic conditions of communities and industries from all parts of the country are taken into account in monetary policy decision-making.
